It’s August. You may have known that, but I must admit… I’ve lost track!
Here we are again at my blog! My written blog… because now i have a VLOG too!
A few new things round the corner, (keep an eye on my socials), but we have a lot to catch up with on here.
First, you can check out the links to my recent video with the amazing Josh Larkin; he’s a creative genius! The other is to my first official video blog! Type in Sebastian Storey - Actor on YouTube.
I’m extremely proud to say that #FineLines (directed by Billy Fenney) got to the very final stages of the #PinewoodStudios competition. (We didn’t win, but there was a lot of films in this competition, and I’m extremely proud that we got this far).
We also had the premiere at the Rio. An awesome showcase for hard working, emerging filmmakers.
Proud to be a part of #OurSecret directed by Thomas House. Now heading into film festivals, and it’s just landed in it’s first entry with the #LiveLinkFilmFestival
That’s all for now. Check out the videos below and stay awesome guys!

On Sunday the 3rd of July, I'm joining the Marchants Merchants team and taking part in a dragon boat race! 🐉🌊 ⛵ We're raising funds for #CANCERSUPPORTYORKSHIRE ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
The #JustGiving link is attached to this post.🙏
This is a charity close to mine and my family's heart. Everyone on this earth probably knows someone with cancer or fighting cancer. We stand together with cancer survivors, and they are not alone in this battle.
We've had friends and family with cancer in the past. As some of you know, our dog Amber has been fighting a brain tumour for the last year.
All your support and any donations would be greatly appreciated. ❤️

Filming ‘Fine Lines’, directed by Billy Fenney
Spent Friday to Sunday filming with hardworking Nottingham Film Students on new short film 'Fine Lines', directed by Billy Fenney. I had an amazing time. All shot in 4K resolution, and filming completed in four days overall.
It was a strong reminder that you can get so much out of working on passion projects, with a great script, an awesome team, and a deadline to meet. The equipment was exceptional, and all the shots carefully planned ahead (meaning we wrapped shooting exactly on time!).
We did running shots, shots in cool environments, shots on tracks, master shots, wide shots, (any shot you can think of really), and I even did my first ever stunt onscreen! 'Fine Lines' is an exciting and action packed film, with a touching story.
Looking forward to seeing it hopefully in film festivals. Thanks again to the team for having me to stay, for greats laughs, a wonderful venture and strong film work.
New Headshots
Check out all my new headshots on my headshot page, and a selection of them on my Spotlight CV. You can also find new body shots and portrait shots from this photoshoot dotted around my website, all credit to Dan Barnett.

Today's blog is about... blogging?
Friends are saying to me I should start a video blog to go alongside my written blog on my website & make it available on one of my YouTube channels. I'm now more focused on my career as an actor than ever since the industry has opened up much more as the global pandemic is cooling down. I've been travelling for auditions, workshops & recording tapes from home & away, but I would have time to do a video blog once a week.
Similar to my written blog, it would be about my work as an actor, the places I travel to, recordings of what I enjoy, & whatever I can say about my work, except with visuals E.G. The other night in London I stayed in a lodge that had a cool Mexican vibe to it. It was so interesting I wanted to write about it, but didn't have my laptop with me at the time (and I prefer to write on my laptop). I know some people prefer watching to reading, and I thought in future I can plan ahead to record.
Other than that, current updates are that I'm taping for projects & currently editing a short film made from home with friends. (Seriously enjoying experimenting with more editing).
If I did start a video blog, would you check it out and watch?
Stay active, stay safe and stay fantastic.

First official short blog of 2022!
8th of January
#Gaming2022
One word: Link.
...Must save Hyrule... defeat Calamity Ganon... then chase down the four divine beasts of legend! 🐉🔥 🧝
Over the holidays I got absolutely sucked into the world of The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and I've opened up most of the Hyrule map. Slay the Bokoblins and smite those Moblins! 💥👹
-
I've also unlocked the #PokemonTrainer in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and couldn't be happier. 🙌 As the catchphrase goes… ‘everyone is here!’.
What console games are you playing over this next year? Are there any you're going to 100% complete? 💯 I always finish the main story first, and come back for post-game content later on whenever I have chance. 🎮
-
I'm counting down the days till the release of Pokemon Legends Arceus on the 28th of January, and the world of George R.R. Martin's Elden Ring looks to be one of the most hotly anticipated Playstation titles of early 2021. And then God Of War Ragnarok later in the year!⚡
You might find me 100% completing #LegendsArceus straight away... whenever I'm not auditioning of course! 👀🔥Switch gaming is such a treat, because you can take it wherever you go.
Had a mission to catch up with gaming this holiday - mission complete. Finished my first official blog of 2022 as well!
Awesome.
Wishing you an amazing weekend!
The end of year blog and goodbye 2021!💥

Final photo, final post, and final blog of the year that is 2021 #TheEndOfYearBlog #Goodbye2021
https://www.sebastianstorey.actor/mynewsandblog❤️🔥
Enough with the throwbacks; the photo above of me at the restaurant was taken today, fresh and ready to celebrate new year’s eve and the coming of 2022, whilst I was out for lunch with the family. Quiet thinking & looking forward. New goals. Motivated. Shaking off the winter cold, setting my new year spirit on fire and ready for 2022. Any photos that occur tonight I'll be posting tomorrow onwards in January 2022!
2021 was an improvement on 2020, but going forward we're aiming for new heights. Cannot wait to see what lies in store for my work as an actor in 2022 & beyond. The last two years have been hard and we've lost friends and loved ones over the last year, so let's make 2022 an exceptional year. If not for ourselves, then we move forward for them.
Wishing you an amazing 2022.

Merry Christmas! Woke up to #FinalFantasy7Remake, #Returnal and #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyPS5 from the family under the tree. 💯 They know me too well! 😉❤️🔥 My family enjoy helping me keep up to date with recent movies and games because of the industry I work in. I've been a major fan of hard copy discs of films, TV shows and games my whole life. 🎬 Even though I love streaming services, there's nothing like opening up a new disc and putting it on the TV or in the console! 🎥 📺🍿
It's been a busy Christmas, but one to remember! I know exactly what I'm doing for #BoxingDay & #NewYear 🙌 🎮
Would be amazing someday soon to work as an actor in a game like these or in a movie or on TV soon. Just need that first major credit to really get going. Here's to hopes for 2022.

The world of Marvel means so much to me, & I'm beyond grateful that it's been an on-screen presence my entire life. I hope someday I can work as an actor for #Marvel, because for me, thanks to these inspiring characters and amazing actors in the MCU, that's always been the dream. ❤️🔥

In gaming there's always a mission; an intention. There's a treasure chest waiting down in the dungeon for us to go get. 👀💥 Whether you're travelling to the nearest mountain on a sprawling open world map, or taking on monsters in a giant alien spaceship, there's a goal. So like in gaming, always have a plan to get there. In the game, if you're playing in survival mode, you might want to stack up on a few extra health bars and pump up that stamina before continuing your journey. And if the plan goes out the window, own it until the plan comes back into action.
This week for my plan, I'm sending important e-mails, going golfing with my dad, helping him out with a job tomorrow, heading to the gym, finding out who's casting what in my industry as I do every week, and setting up a cool new computer. (Which will be much easier to work and write from). I just figured out how to use the #greenscreen feature on #TikTok and I'll go wild with it.
What's your plan? If you haven't got one, don't worry about it; let's just own it.
Have an amazing week. #WeMeanBusiness 🔥🤟

30/10/21 - Halloween Night and Doctor who
It's always been my dream to be The Doctor, since the beginning of time and space! @bbcdoctorwho #Wibbleywobblytimeywimey
#DoctorWho is the show that kick-started my dream to work as an actor in the first place.
#DoctorWho #DoctorWhoFlux premiered tonight on #BBCOne at 6:25, and it was amazing! I’m very pleased that it’s back on television.
Happy Halloween!
30/10/21 - Shout out to the awesome Iestyn edwards @allsingingalldancingiestyn.
Fantastic to hear about some of your current work Iestyn. Thanks for connecting with me on socials and following my journey! Best wishes for your future projects and keep in touch.

Written whilst listening to the theme tunes to ‘The Neverending Story’, ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer - a few of my favourites.
If you've known me for a long time, you might know I enjoy writing poetry.
Chances are you might have heard me read you this one too. Here's my Poetry/Spoken Word Reel. Poetry is about reading in between the lines. In 2020 I recorded some of my work from the poetry anthology I wrote over the last four years. In the future I would love to publish some of my poetry in book form, just like my ambition with my novel. So today I re-recorded one of my favourites for a poetry/spoken word reel to upload to my links online. I would love to write a blog focused specifically on poetry writing at some point soon for my website for #LongBlogMonday, as I think it's such an awesome, personal, (usually) succinct and revealing form of writing for writers.
This recording is one of the more emotional pieces I've written, as it's about a man who is involved in a car incident with his family, and he wakes up from the crash disorientated and concerned about them. In the narrative of the poem the man asks - "But is it a mist?", because he is confused about the smoke emerging from the car incident; initially he believes it's merely the effects of the weather. He then comes to his senses and witnesses the true, harrowing circumstances that surround him. It's one of my favourites of my poetry writing because just like most people, I've lost family over the years. It always reminds me to treasure the time that we have. I hope that you can connect with it too. Who knows... at some point soon it would be really cool to add more to this poetry reel.
Short Blog Entry.
Written whilst munching on Galaxy Milk Chocolate.

#GamingIsTheFuture
#GamingIsTheFuture #Gaming is a massive industry, and just like #Film, #TV & #Theatre, I've always had a passion to work in it. #ShortBlogFriday #MotionCapture #Actor
I haven’t talked too much about gaming on my website just yet. Don’t know why; it’s a massive part of my life. I think I’ll eventually set up a website dedicated purely to my gaming ventures. It’s so awesome and inspiring to see actors such as Brie Larson, Henry Cavill and Jack Black exploring their own adventures in gaming in interviews and on Instagram and YouTube.
I want to pause for thought regarding the advancements in gaming technology over recent years. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are amazing consoles, and the Nintendo Switch and it’s Lite version are stylish, portable beasts. I started gaming way back on the PS2 and the Gameboy Advance. The fact that you can play The Elder Scrolls V: SKYRIM, DOOM, Saints Row, Zelda and so many more exceptional titles on a handheld screen on the train? AMAZING! It makes you think about how much the gaming industry has evolved since the early 2000s. I love retro gaming too, but 2021 for gaming feels like something new. I’m 22 years old and I can’t wait to see what gaming looks like in 2060. But hey, I’m not wishing my life away. I want to be involved in creating these worlds as an actor in between now and then. In a way, just like The North, I like to raise awareness for gaming. #GamingIsTheFuture or at least, it opens up incredible opportunities for interactive forms of cinema, virtual learning, and so many mind blowing experiences.
Hey… I think you can already tell that just like with the other sides of the entertainment industry, I can talk about gaming for hours and hours, but I’m gonna save that for another day on #LongBlogMonday. For now, this is me with #ShortBlogFriday. I think I hear Super Smash Bros. calling? Over and out.
Blog written on 5th, 6th and 7th of October 2021 in the restaurant bar at the gym
Posted on Monday 11th of October 2021
I didn’t know where to start with blogging. I just knew at this point in my life, I wanted to do it. A form of online diary; one that I could share for anyone who might want to read my thoughts on the weird, wide world. I tried video blogging, but that involves a lot of talking (and I want to save my voice for when I’m on a Film, TV set or the stage). So where better to start than…
Writing
Since we’re talking about writing, let’s just start with writing about anything, and follow where it leads. As I blog away, I’m going to highlight a few words within the semantic field of ‘writing’ so that we stay on track. I learnt those two words in high school English lessons – ‘semantic field’, but I’m not in high school anymore, so it’s time to put words like that to great use!
Acting has always been my main one thing – I wholeheartedly admit that I’m like a steamroller when it comes to it. When I’m having my downtime, I’m chill, and I guess I don’t like to be organised when I’m chilled. But when I’m acting, for every audition and job, I know there’s one goal, one primary ‘intention’, and I head towards it. It’s a bit like a dart heading towards a massive board on the wall, and I know exactly where I want it to go. How I get there in the end is the fun & challenging part. Some people see it as flapping about in life? I see having such a passionate intention as pure, adrenaline fuelled motivation for dedicated work.
HOLD ON A SECOND… AM I TALKING ABOUT WRITING HERE, OR IS IT ACTING?
So yes; I suppose we’ve just talked about acting, and in a way, the same applies to my adventures in writing. Even now as I’m ploughing through this, like a snake sizzling up a ladder, I know there’s a goal in mind. Although I suppose this is what they call ‘free writing’ – just going with the flow. That’s what it’s like when I’m writing my novel.
‘ONE GOAL; ONE VISION’.
Hey… look at that! I just quoted Queen.
I spent a lot of time just experimenting with my writing whilst I was training as an actor. After that, it took a while for me to settle being back at home, and during and after the events of 2020, I had that constant urge to get moving again. I knew I had to soon establish the fact that I wanted to be in London and beyond on a frequent basis. Once again, developing a story helped settle my mind during those times, and over the last two years (approx.) I was just figuring out where I was at. Like everybody, I’ve lost people over the years & then worked through some crazy stuff (including a worldwide pandemic), but I think I’m heading towards a home note now. I’m rambling… but my point is, being in my early 20’s, I actually feel I can just sit and watch the world a bit more. I’m not just referring to hiking up a hill & watching the jaw dropping view from the top of a mountain (like I do with my dad often) – I mean observing and seeing everything a bit more clearly. Ok… so…
MY NOVEL
In any spare time I get when I’m not focused on my work as an actor, I’m a Novelist. I’m not a screenwriter & I’m definitely not a playwright (I mean never say never), but I am 100 (struggles to find the percent button on laptop) percent, an aspiring Author. I can feel it. I know that I talk about this to friends and family (as well as tweeting/posting about it with rather vague details), but I can confirm the book is coming (eventually). It’s an epic adventure of the Underworld, and I’m half way through it. I dictated a good few of my favourite pages of the middle section of the first book in my fantasy saga to a close friend earlier this year, whilst underscoring it with music from Bethesda’s ‘Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’, and he definitely enjoyed it.
WRITING HABITS
Whenever I write my novel, lots of colours and epic characters flow onto the page. I don’t really find starting off the beginning of a chapter or book a sticking point like some people may experience (and I know that’s a thing). Maybe at high school when free writing wasn’t really a thing, and we had to analyse newspaper articles & poetry, because I think it’s harder to start writing about somebody else’s work. I mean what do you say when commenting in written word about someone else? We have to think about it a bit more before we do. But again… with regards to writer’s block for an opening of a book… never say never… I don’t want to jynx it. It’s usually mid-way through a chapter that I might get stuck, but that’s typically if I have to backtrack and make sure I’m staying in line with what I wrote previously. It’s the early stages of the ‘proof reading’ process I guess, and with certain things, I’m a bit of a perfectionist (particularly when writing). If you’ve ever spent time Tweeting and all of a sudden realise that the auto correct button has utterly double crossed you, then you know what I’m talking about. The auto correct button has lent an unhelpful helping hand to my sense of perfectionism. If you have felt this too, believe me, I understand. Or say the picture layout isn’t quite what you want it to be & you keep altering it? Hey – it’s the 21st century. The amount of tweets I delete & reupload per week is insane. Because this is the way social media functions, this means that the vast majority of people in the world are overthinkers. Social media is a useful tool & it’s described on Google as a form of micro-blogging. And I’ve gotten to the point where I have now fully embraced socials, and I’m using them in ways I never thought I would! On the other hand, social media can be dangerous, and I hope there’s an alternative form of communication in the future that is more ‘social’. Perhaps establishing a virtual world that doesn’t require a phone would really help (let’s beg the DEVS to push on with this please). Laptops can stay though. I love my laptop, and it doesn’t make my neck hurt when I look at it.
WHAT STOPS ME FROM WRITING ALTOGETHER
Every time I sit down to write or even game, I usually come back to thinking ‘what could I be doing next to push ahead with my acting career now?’. I love the connectivity of the arts industry, so I usually think to myself, “let’s meet more cool people!” – and I love that about what I do. I think my love for writing came from acting in the beginning anyway. Watching those characters on Television & on Film that I wanted to be someday, and seeing the sort of people I wanted to work with in my life influenced my writing too, and I had to put it down on paper. The way the characters spoke & their mannerisms all hit me like an arrow to the head. Which brings me to the next section of this ‘WRITING’ blog –
MY FIRST EVER WRITING EXPERIENCE –
I was at my Grandma’s house (probably about six years old), and wrote what would most likely now be described as a fan fiction spinoff of Steven Moffat’s ‘Weeping Angel’ creations from Doctor Who. It was a short horror story about creepy statue monsters that moved on their own, and it starred a lot of my friends from school in it. I have a vivid memory of writing it. I found it years later in a drawer. It’s a very strong memory and I hope I still have the book I wrote it in.
(…I think I just teared up a bit.)
THE DESCRIPTIONS
Descriptions are self indulgent (I know), and I’ve heard of writers being told often to stick to dialogue, but, overall, they are a luxury. Tolkein’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Trilogy is basically a book of incredible descriptions, and I mean that in the epic sense. My favourite section of my novel is the most descriptive part of it. I can’t say what it is… for now. Maybe I’ll mention that section eventually on the blurb.
So you can expect that when my novel is published there will be many vivid descriptions of environments. After all, I’ll want my novels to eventually be made into films, and descriptions always help with that. Maybe I’ll even produce the film and adapt the novels myself? Who knows.
THE END?
